Thermopiles are often incorporated into thermometers for measuring body temperature. The Excelitas range of TPM 1T thermopile sensor modules for general thermometry applications consist of a thermopile sensor mounted on a pcb with connector and integrated temperature compensation and calibration.

Thermopiles are often incorporated into temperature measuring devices such as thermometers used to measure body temperature.

The Excelitas range of TPM 1T (or TPiM 1T) thermopile sensor modules is suitable for general thermometry applications. All feature an operating temperature range of -25 to +100 °C.

The TPM 1T thermopile modules consist of a thermopile sensor mounted on a pcb with a connector. The module includes integrated temperature compensation and calibration, which define the temperature environment and range, but which must be specified when ordering.

Robust TO housing with an aperture, highly sensitive detector on a thermopile base plus processing electronics. The Sensor is provided with storage of calibration data and a number of digital filters. For all temperature measurement applications, the sensor is calibrated for temperature range up to 120°C or up to 200°C. The interrupt function also allows use of the sensor as a temperature alarm in industrial instrumentation.

The most compact thermopile sensor with integrated signal processing within the range. It features a wide field of view and low power consumption. The technology of a highly sensitive thermopile combined with smart data treatment allows for much more than the traditional temperature measurement of remote objects. Once configured via the I2C interface an interrupt output can be used to monitor motion, presence or an over-temperature of remote objects.

The CaliPile™ Application Software is complementary to the standard Excelitas software package. The approach of this application software is a top-down introduction to the features of the CaliPile™ sensor family based on exemplary applications. It facilitates the first contact to our CaliPile™ sensors and allows exploring the multidimensional parameter range keeping an eye on the resulting behavior. Once having understood the internal structure and signal processing the developer is referred to the standard Excelitas software package, which gives more control on the basic parameters than this software.

DigiPile

The DigiPileTM is a Thermopile Detector with digital output. It combines a time-proven MEMS-based sensing element with a fully integrated low noise amplifier, A/D converter and integrated ambient temperature sensor. An internal clock and control unit enable the DigiPile to open a dialogue with any outside microprocessor without the need for costly additional components.

The DigiPileTM Thermopile Detector family with digital output is extended to SMD housings with two variants, TPiS 1S 1252 and TPiS 1S 1051. The signal preparation is equivalent to those versions in TO type housings.

General-purpose detectors in 4.7 mm diameter TO-46 type housings, featuring a specially-designed element configuration, each one with different size of absorbing area. The window is available as standard infrared or optional with narrow band pass filter for gas sensing applications. With the narrowband filters a square window is provided. TPD 1T 0122 provides the smallest absorbing area, TPD 1T 0623 is a larger design offering strong signals. All types are equipped as standard with an internal thermistor as temperature reference for thermopile temperature compensation.

Excelitas TPD 1T 0122 Thermopile Detectors in TO-46 housing – a miniature sensor solution featuring a sensitive chip and small optical window. Sensitivity S100: 56 µV/K. Field of View: 120 degrees. The window is optically coated in the IR band 5-14µm and is available in two different formats.

A series of Thermopile Detectors in small and compact SMD housings, enabling standard SMT assembly processes and providing for small dimensions. The SMD versions feature unique ISOthermal performance when units are subjected to thermal shock conditions. The TPiD 1S 0121 is the smallest SMD version; the TPiD 1S 0222 provides higher sensitivity. These detectors are equipped with an internal thermistor as temperature reference for thermopile temperature compensation.

High performance thermopiles with an internal reflector that reduces the field of view and offers a smaller measurement target spot than conventional detectors without optics.The housing size is taller than other types, although it has the same diameter as standard TO-5 housing. All types are equipped as standard with an internal thermistor as temperature reference for thermopile temperature compensation.

The Module range consists of a thermopile sensor, mounted on a PCB with connector. The PCB can also provide for optional features as voltage regulation and a noise-reduction filter. The Module is also featuring ISOthermal performance and includes the integrated temperature compensation for a defined temperature environment, and the calibration to a certain object temperature range.

A range of ISOthermal Thermopile Detectors in TO-39 type housings. The patent protected ISOthermal feature provides improved system performance when being subjected to thermal shock conditions. Both types are provided with round window, which also serves as aperture. TPiD 1T 0224 provides the smallest absorbing area, TPiD 1T 0624 offers the largest absorbing sensor area and high sensitivity. All types are equipped as standard with internal thermistor as temperature reference for thermopile temperature compensation.
